Rick Hinck’s specializing in home inspection is a natural outgrowth of 30 years of home building experience focused on custom residential properties.
Rick covers the tri-county area of Central Illinois: Peoria, Morton, Washington, East Peoria, and Metamora. “I graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in industrial technology and taught industrial arts at Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe, Illinois,” he relates. “My wife Marti and I went into business for ourselves, focusing on energy-efficient construction necessitated by the oil embargo during the 1980’s. We pioneered ‘superinsulated’ housing in the Peoria area for several years afterward.”
Certified by both the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) and the American Home Inspection Training Institute, Rick is also an Illinois-licensed home inspector, an Illinois-licensed radon measurement technician, past President of the Home Builder’s Association of Greater Peoria and National Association of Home Builders member. To reduce the logistical problems that can be involved in inspections, he’s also a display key holder.
Rick concentrates on single and multi-family residential homes, but also offers radon inspection and does light commercial and industrial inspections as well.
“Yes, I like the client to be at the inspection,” he states. “ We work weekends and off hours when necessary for our clients. We don’t just work set times. My on-site reports have extensive checklists and narrative descriptions. We ask only 24 hours’ advance notice to schedule.”
What distinguishes Rick Hinck from other inspectors? “A working knowledge of homes, not just theoretical knowledge of the home’s systems,” he answers. “And of course a concern for my clients’ valuable investment.”
Rick carries a full Errors and Ommissions Insurance policy, and is committed to complying with
NACHI's Code of Ethics and
Standards of Practice.
